We have practiced in the Cherokee Tribal Court since its inception in 2000 and in its predecessor court as well, having tried one of the first civil jury trials on the Boundary ever in 1982. We have represented the Tribal Council of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians in one matter and have represented two Principal Chiefs of the Eastern Band in multiple matters. We have on other occasions appeared in front of Tribal Council for private clients.
We have handled disputes involving Trust property, business disputes, Indian Self-Determination issues, personnel issues, and personal injuries, among other matters. Our partners are familiar with the nuances of Native American law and the practice within tribal jurisdictions.
